CPS Today
VOL. 2, ISSUE 1 May 20, 2019
Greetings!

In my role as president and CEO, I am honored to work with countless devoted CPS Energy employees as we encounter a wide range of opportunities and challenges on any given day. Together we are working to keep our service affordable, reliable and resilient, while planning for the future of energy in San Antonio.

That is not a challenge I take lightly and it is, in a sense, invigorating. I say that because we are seeing a growing number of customers who are interested in how their energy is generated; and as our population grows to a projected 2.5 million over the next two decades, I expect that interest to grow. That is exciting.

I find this time exciting because it gives us an opportunity to listen to you, the community — CPS Energy’s investors and owners. I run a business anchored by our belief of putting People First! My job is to serve EVERYONE, to listen and to help San Antonio find its way forward through the very complex energy landscape.

That’s why we embarked on the Flexible Path to map our direction toward the future and have included public listening sessions with our Board of Trustees to gain your insight as a consumer and member of this community. It’s why we have invested our expertise and resources in the development of the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. And it’s why I encourage each and every one of you to join the conversation on both.

While we have an exciting future ahead of us, the key will be for everyone to come prepared and willing to dialogue about the solutions we can pursue together, as a community and over time.

Paula Gold-Williams
